Our third iPhone app, Flying Pigs, has just launched and we’re already receiving positive feedback from players (haven’t been too many yet). Our Twitter iTunes gift card started simultaneously with the launch and is already starting to take effect. We had a small base of followers to start with so I feared it might take doing a few of these promotions before they started to work, but we have already added 50% more followers in the first couple days and it’s showing no sign of slowing down (it still hasn’t had enough growth to have any significant impact on sales).

The big achievement though, is the fact that we’ve made a real “video game.” Although it’s a simple game, it’s by far the most interactive of our three products and we have more in store! And more importantly, it is fun. My iPhone-less friends ask me for my phone while we’re hanging out. They want to play it. My own father has only used my previous applications for about 30 seconds total. My mom said he played Flying Pigs twenty times the other night on his iPod touch. On Twitter, a woman had grabbed a free promo code for the app. Hours later she posted that her kids were fighting over the iPod. Although the sales haven’t shown it yet, this kind of feedback tells me that we’re on the right track. Our new game, which will be announced soon is going to be a ton of fun as well. A big chunk of the game was already done before the release of Flying Pigs so don’t expect the same gap in release dates we previously had between The Mood Setter and Flying Pigs. In other news, master code monkey Sean touched up the interface and I added new art work for Hint Sprint-The Rhyming Word Game! so check that out. We will also be updating the game with more puzzles.
